Travis Volz and I have 33 mutual friends on Facebook. I don’t remember exactly when we connected, but that’s a lot for a dude prior to friending me that I’d never met, nor ever heard of. But I friended him anyway, and I’m glad I did because his Facebook game is ON POINT. Seriously, he’s one of my favorite people on that stupid platform and it’s because he’s that uncanny mix of sincere, interesting and funny combining hilarious memes with gorgeous nature photography and earnest updates about stuff he does. It’s great.

So, when I finally sat down with him via Zoom to chat about his journey, his career, and whatever else, it’s no surprise that we hit it off and had a breezy 45 minute chat that touched on our shared vocation of communications professional, some of the annoying peccadilloes of the work, film festivals, and a bunch of other stuff. Seriously, it was interesting, easygoing, and fun. What else can you hope for?
